The ladies of the Hardy GFWC Timely Club are gearing up for their annual Holiday Marketplace slated for Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the A.L. Hutson Gym in Highland.
According to club members Lita King, Jan Haney and Michelle Taylor, there are still several vendor booth spaces available.
“We rent table spaces and it’s relatively cheap,” King said. “They’re $35 or if you would like for us to set it up, it is $45. You are welcome to bring your own tables and we encourage people to contact us for a space.”
The Holiday Marketplace gives local businesses that do not have a storefront the opportunity to showcase their items for the holiday season. Vendors are encouraged to showcase their fall, winter and anytime use products.
“This is our big fundraiser,” Haney said. “We use the money we raise to support various things here in the community such as the Hardy Library, backpack project at the school and CASA.”
The event is open to the public and admission is one non-perishable food item which will be donated to a local food pantry to help families in need.
“We rotate and support a different food bank or pantry each year. This year we are donating what we collect to the Hardy United Methodist Church,” King said.
In addition to the many vendors who will be set up throughout the A.L. Hutson, the group will also feature their Candy Cane Café, selling breakfast and lunch items during the event to help raise funds.
“We hope everyone comes out and supports the event. It’s a good thing for us and for the businesses,” Haney said.
