The right to vote (wet vs. dry)…
Since Sept 2007, the members of Save Energy Reap Taxes have been labeled as troublesome individuals who are engaged in upsetting the status quo. Save Energy Reap Taxes is an organization that has dual missions (Taxes and helping the environment by saving energy). Mission 1. Increase tax revenue by legalizing the sales of alcoholic beverages in Sharp County. FOLKS…this is a NO BRAINER! More tax revenue = more dollars for the local governments to spend in expanded budgets . The 2nd mission is bit more complex. Driving long distances to purchase alcohol is a waste of fuel and time. Both of which seem to be in short supply these days. Both of these missions are vitally important to the economic growth and safety to our area, we have been labeled as one of the poorest counties in Arkansas. Something NOT to be proud of. Legalizing the sale of alcohol in Sharp County is just like the Native Americans building casinos on tribal land. Its good business and will allow the municipalities to create jobs and a better way of life, or maybe, those that have, want to keep the ‘have nots’ from having more. hmmm…think about it.
In the past ‘We the People’ have been denied the right to vote for a change that the majority of Sharp County residents may (or may not) support, but we never got the chance to decide for ourselves. What happened is that a court of law (instead of the voters) made the choice that the issue would not even go to the people. Like in Washington DC, outsiders manipulated and pulled strings and ultimately, the right of choice was denied to us by outsiders who wished to maintain their financial status quo and also locals (and you know who you are) who fear change.
Heads up…Change is the one constant in the Universe. Change happens all the time. You can’t stop it from happening, its part of the creators operational programming.
The people of Sharp County deserve the right to vote. To deny us that right is tantamount to communism. Let us vote and then the truth will be known. Government leaders need to heed the people, it says so in the Constitution and Declaration of Independance. The people in Sharp County have been cheated by greed and selfishness. This must change.
Bob Marley in his classic reggae tune ‘Exodus’ says “Get up Stand up, Stand Up for YOUR rights”. People, why don’t you get-a round-tuit and just do it.

With all the oil dumping into the gulf of Mexico, I don’t think that there was ever any oil crises and that bp knew it was sitting on reserves that would last forever and that this cache, if allowed would be able to provide all the oil to the planet, cheaply and be able to make it affordalbe, but NOOOOOOOOOO, they got greedy and they, like everyone in the bible who sinned, they got punished and now the serpent tounge of satan has erupted from the bosom of the earth and is now rising to strangle all that we know and love. Bye bye miss american pie. Nothing will ever be the same again and now its time to embrace a new beginning, or be doomed to suffer the same ole ending. Been there, done that. see ya round.
I want to be able to vote, its my right. Down with Stalin, down with Hitler, down with prohibitioners. They continue to take our right to choose. Right to life, right to vote, right to bear arms, right to have a beer with dinner while eating a steak or glass of wine with my pasta.
Everyone wins. We’ll see if the barons and bergermeisters will take more than there fair share…again. Where’s Robin of Loxley when you need him…don’t miss Robin Hood at the theater, real soon too. Its a great story of saying NO to those who steal our rights.
Thanks to FOHA for providing this space to write on.

The general contours of biblical teaching are that wine is a blessing from the Lord, something to be enjoyed. But like any good gift from God, it can be abused: in this case, abuse involves addiction and drunkenness. But whenever we condemn others who are able to enjoy God’s good gifts in moderation as though they were abusers, we misrepresent biblical Christianity. Therefore, let us atleast give our democracy a chance to give the people a vote. If approved than let our own moral values decied if, when and how much we wish to drink !
John 2:10 said, “Every man sets out the good wine first, then after the guests have drunk freely, the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” Acts 2:13—”they are full of sweet wine. Job’s family drinking wine; Daniel 10:3 speaks of drinking wine as a blessing after a time of fasting. Some of Jesus’ parables are about wine, wineskins, vineyards (cf. Matt 9:17; 21:33; even John 15 speaks of God the Father as the vinedresser!). Etc…
