The Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce held their monthly meeting at the Artisan Sports Bar and Grill in Highland June 20.
President Laura Clute started the meeting off with a series of announcements pertaining to upcoming events including the upcoming Thunder on Thunderbird boat parade fireworks show slated for July 4 in Cherokee Village as well as the Cherokee Village Fire Department’s annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser which will take place in Town Center that morning.
The Tyler Parten Memorial Golf Tournament is also quickly approaching and is slated for July 8.
Other announcements included an upcoming blood drive to be held June 30 at WRMC in Cherokee Village, and an announcement made by Susan Thomas about the upcoming Friends of Cherokee Animals event.
Thomas said the upcoming Lone Dog Saloon event slated for July 22 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. will be a fundraising event held at the Highland Elks Lodge in Cherokee Village. Thomas said tickets to the event are $20 in advance or $25 at the door and the event will be reflective of a saloon from the 1800’s. for more information contact Thomas at 870-257-3388.
Pat Clary also made an announcement to remind everyone in attendance of the Ozark Gateway Region Golf Classic which will be held in August with more details to be released later. She also made mention of the upcoming Arkansas State Human Fooseball Tournament which will take place at the Sharp County Fair in August.
On behalf of the Spring River Paramedic Ambulance Foundation Board, Roberta Shankle also announced a fundraising event which is quickly coming to a close. The board is taking orders for Boston butts until June 29. Butts are $30 each and will come fully cooked. The next order of business was to introduce the chamber’s new office manager, Katy Britt. Britt is a full time employee of the chamber and is available at the chamber office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the chamber’s office in Highland.
Following the announcements, Hal Mandelman with Mashuga Marketing, gave an in-depth presentation introducing the chamber’s new website www.sracc.org to those in attendance. The presentation showcased the features of the new website as well as the benefits of becoming a chamber member.
