There were several First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention winners and a Best of Show winner selected by the judge, Jim Hardin of Hernando, MS. Mr. Hardin has been a professional artist for 47 years and this was his first visit to beautiful Hardy, AR. The gallery is open on Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m., and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The SRAG is one of the “best kept secrets” in Hardy. It’s time local residents are aware of it’s existance. The Guild is so fortunate to have so many talented artists in Sharp County and the surrounding areas. Local interested artist should contact the gallery if they are interested in displaying their work. The cost is minimal and acceptance is based on simply submitting three of your works to be juried by the SRAG committee. If your work is accepted you can display your work in the gallery. A portion of any sales goes to the Gallery to help cover the overhead. Especially, this year with the hot weather, the utility costs are astronomical. A big thanks goes to Faye Douglas at Stitching On for allowing the Guild to display their work in the upper level of her store.
I had the honor to attend the awards ceremony on Sunday. It was a lovely affair and all the artists were present for the event. Here are the award winners…The peoples choice award went to Eva Haley for ‘Stitch of Time’
