The Spring River at Hardy was at 16.51 feet at 6:00am on Friday, about six feet lower than when it crested in 2008′s flood. At 14 feet, homes on piling along the riverbank have water under them and the River Bend Campground and other low lying areas are flooded. Downstream, the river will crest at 22.5 feet late Friday at Imboden.

I drove through during the flood, it was crazy seeing how high the Spring River can go and how fast. What was really crazy was just two days later driving back through it all looks almost normal.
Steve, this is Marc Herring, owner of the Ozark Classic Crafts Mall in Hardy. Thanks for your post. Yes indeed, the river can rage whenever she wishes. This time though, it wasn’t as devestating as prior floods. The merchants stayed dry and are looking forward to a wonderful fall, holiday season. Stop and say hello anytime.
