Some post around the internet have brought up a idea to have a nice skate park built. I am curious if enough folks would find that a possible project to look into. Please give input here for some feedback and input !!

This is something I had mentioned to someone about 2-3 years ago. We have wonderful land out here and we could build an indoor Skate Park to create a winter activity. Who knows, some day we could even host an annual Skate Competition!

An indoor skate park would be such an awsome attraction for our area. It would allow the younger folks a place to learn clean competition. I would hope that the city leaders would embrace the idea and push forward with it.

I personally think a skate park is a great idea. I skate when I can but have to leave town in order to do so. Kids definitely needs positive, safe hobbies these days. Also a bike trail could bring enjoyment as well. Many cities have started to convert old train routes into miles of bike and walking trails and I think this is a great, cheap way to better our community.

I agree with Samuel, a skatepark is more than a great idea. I come from Siloam Springs, Arkansas. When I was 16 or so skateboarding in the streets became a big problem with property owners and police. To the point where I brought the idea to the city for a skatepark. Its been holding up for the years now, and I feel like its been a great thing for the city. I would more than love to be a part of this.
Also for the bike trail, which is something I would have loved to have growing up. Siloam Springs now has bike trails that lead in and out of forests and city landscape. You will see people of all ages use these, its something for the whole family.

There is so little for the young folks in this area. I happen to think that with proper management, this would be a wonderful attraction on or off season. Heck,I'd go myself. Who says the older folks can't enjoy this??? Add my and my husband's applause for anyone who can get this started. (I would love to be involved, but my husband is an invalid, and I am his full time care-giver. I just cannot do much outside the home for now) If I can be of any help here at home, let me know. I'm sure there is a lot to such an undertaking.

Also how about FRIZBE GOLF. Young and "older" could enjoy this game. Could have tournaments also. Would help generate revenue and more visits to Hardy Town. Think out of the box a little and utilize your beautiful area.

That idea was discussed in a prior articla, try the search button to find it. We "Friends Of Hardy Arkansas" think its a great idea. Just trying to get sponsors seems to be the hard part.

As much fun as it would be for the local kids I must remind you all that if the city builds it and runs it, then they are liable for all injuries. I do understand that insurance would have to be purshased so has anyone looked into that expense? And, what about lawsuits?
