Why I love Hardy, Wow that is a good one to talk about. I heard about the area where Hardy is the first time talking to a friend at a social event. I was saying how I never have time to go on vacations and he told me about this great place in Arkansas called Hardy and the area called Cherokee Village. He had just purchased a fixer upper on one of the lakes.

I decided to check it out on a weeked along with my girlfriend at the time. We went up and drove to the town. When we walked around the Main Street area everyone was friendly, if we stopped to ask a question the person alwasy had information along with a great story to tell us. By the time you walked away you knew that person (sometimes more than you wanted) but that was still a good thing.

We finally after months of driving up on weekends found a perfect jewel of a place on the best kept secret (Lake Sherwood). Over four years later we still try to come up every weekend to relax, and enjoy the area, shop..eat…talk…hike..fish..explore..etc.

It's a place that not only do I love, but my girlfriend..who is now my Wife and our children ages 7 thru 15 at the time have also had laughter, happiness, and many memories made here. It is my HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

Being in Hardy/Cherokee Village is in itself 'being on vacation'. Away from the city and it's hustle and bustle is what drew me to Hardy, like a magnet.
Hardy/Cherokee Village and it's 'family' gave me the love and respect that one cannot find in the city.
Being an owner of the Best Western Village Inn has opened up many new doors for me and I thank the City and the many old and new friends, who gave me the courage to continue working hard!

This topic remains a top one for me. As the time that I spend in Hardy increases I am made more aware of myself and the relationships that I create. Many people come to Hardy. There are many stories. Their stories are no less interesting than my own and I thoroughly enjoy sharing in the tales. As a business owner in Hardy, I get to meet quite a few of our visitors, guests and residents. Not everyone is as connected as I seem to be and that's ok. We all have our dreams, needs wants and desires. I would just like to thank everyone who has helped to make Hardy home for me, my dog and my mother (not necessarily in that order). This includes all the friends, neighbors (business and residential) and fellow collaborators who continually help me to manifest the dream and vision. As I continue to develop a life that is worth living I find that God truely does send us who we need to meet at the time that we need to meet them.

Thank you and God Bless…

Loving Hardy is so easy! We have lived in Arkansas for 9 years now, the last 3 1/2 here in this wonderful community. Our experiences have all been positive with people, businesses, and the many events we have. Hardy is that quintessential old fashioned small town. I grew up in such a town. Over the years, due to job demands, I had to live in large metro areas, or their outskirts. All these years my dearest wish/dream, was to get back to what we find here in Hardy. I have found a sense of well-being here; a sense of peace I never felt in the city. I suppose I am a country gal at heart. And, my heart is in Hardy.
