It seems alot of folks have opionions about what should and shouldn't be in Hardy. However at last count we seem to have about 8+ empty buildings on the main strip not counting side streets.
What type of business do you think could work and survive in this town.
I personally think a Dollar Tree or Everything's A Buck store. Interesting enough Dolloar Tree is NOT A FRANCHISE: We do not offer franchising opportunities. All of our stores are operated from our Corporate Headquarters in Chesapeake, VA.
If the city of Hardy worked to get them in the town wouldn't that be nice !!!

That actually wouldn't be a bad idea !! That should be brought up at a city council meeting if it hasn't yet been done. Anyone else got input ??

As a merchant on Main Street, I'd like to see anything that serves the public and operates a sound business that respects the fact that we are MAIN STREET. Since Hardy is the smallest Main Street in the entire Main Street America system, being a main st merchant comes with great responsibility…no littering with cigarette butts in the street, sweeping the sidewalk, being OPEN and available, running a shop that is clean, fun and full is essential to the total wellbeing of the town (city) of Hardy. We are in need of businesses, but we do not need businesses who will diminish the town…with that said, welcome and we hope that you'll join us in following the dream.

It would be nice to see shops that show crafters actually making their wares. Like a pottery, leather, basket making, etc. It would show the shoppers that the products are made locally and would add a more Ozark type experience for the shoppers. Just my thoughts.

Riverman…I have had more than one crafter demonstrating their craft in the Ozark Classic Crafts Mall. I did get away from that last year, but with renewed interest, and your request, I will be looking at creating a demo calendar for 2010. Thanks for speaking up and stay in touch…stop by and visit.
