The Illusion Is Still A Lie – Mayor
It is a sad day when we find our Mayor of Hardy (Nina Thornton) having to create more LIES in order to cover her actions and create the illusion that she is somehow a victim when she in FACT is the one guilty of the lie she created. Once you follow the simple timeline of events one with any sense can tell she had to quickly create a cover for her poor comments and actions. This quote below was taken from her website on Oct. 20,2010 where she is allegedly speaking about one of the co-founders of this website and also this website.
Vote For ? – Wait I’ll Email When I Am Off The Clock !
It is interesting to hear so much talk in the air about he said this and she said that etc.. However some things are important and appear to be required by law. We hope that this election like any is being played fairly and within the proper parameters of the legal system. It is all about what we would consider keeping the playing field equal. Two questions have been asked about Public Servants and use of office equipment toward a campaign.
One question posed to our staff was about PUBLIC SERVANT’S devoting time or labor during usual office hours toward the campaigns of other candidates and if this is acceptable.
Campaign Signs – Good, Bad, Ugly!
To many can be excessive, not enough can be ineffective but either way please DO NOT Destroy Campaign signs. While these signs show the public who supports which candidate, they are not truly an effective way to persuade voters. Most people who put signs in their front yard are already strong supporters of a candidate or political party. The signs usually don’t persuade voters who are on the fence about who they should vote for. Besides their are more effective ways to campaign.
Effective Ways to Persuade Voters
- Knock on doors-Talking with people face-to-face is a more effective way to persuade voters than yard signs.
Who Tipped The Toilets?
The city of Hardy offers a beautiful park with a baseball field and even a small playground. It also offers easy swimming access to the Spring River with a concrete pad right on the rivers edge. A short distance down river are some lovely falls that makes a refreshing place to sit and cool off in the river. However today it was discovered that sometime in the prior evening it appears some folks thought it would be funny to knock over the two porta potties and leave a bunch of beer cans next to it!
Mayoral Candidates Bio For Hardy AR
Greg Bess

I am Greg Bess and a candidate for Mayor for the City of Hardy. I have resided for the last 9 years at 108 West Main Street, here in Hardy, but my connection to Hardy goes back to childhood. My family and hometown church group of Blytheville visited Hardy often during the summer months. I learned to swim, during the summer of my ninth year with Purex jugs tied under my arms, flailing away in the Spring River.
Become A Citizen Journalist For Our Site
Citizen journalism is a concept that advances the idea that consumers or everyday citizens take
a more active role in the news. It is often referred to as the “new media” and includes everything from passionate letters to the editor and comments on blogsand news sites, to bloggers scooping stories or exposing doctored or omitted facts from mainstream media reports. Citizen journalism also points out bias by particular reporters or news outlets and attempts to give voice to the both sides on hot button issues.

How To Reach Your City Of Hardy Alderman
Seems like a simple enough action. However, when the only way to contact them is by either calling City Hall directly or using the only official listed email, which happens to be the Mayors that doesn’t help. Especially when you wish for your questions to be private and only for your specific Alderman. Obviously, in most instances it shouldn’t matter, but when your city is so small that everyone knows your business, keeping something between yourself and your representative is a right you should have. This is separate from making a presentation to the whole City Council by getting on the agenda.
