Rollin’ On the Spring River
Rollin’ On the RiverThe Spring River begins as a sleepy creek north of Thayer, Missouri, just
across the Arkansas line. The world’s 10th-largest spring, Mammoth Spring, pumps more than nine million gallons of 58-degree water every hour into the stream year-round. When dust-dry summer weather transforms other float streams into rocky puddles, the big, reliable water source makes the Spring River an easily floatable stream.
The state park at the spring is a wonder in its own right. In 1836, William Allen built the first mill at the site. Another mill went up in 1850. Federal troops burned it during the Civil War. Atop a small hill on the east bank of the park’s lake stands a Civil War relic, an 1862 siege cannon.
Cyber Bullying – Topix and Social Networking Sites
Yes it is a reality and is happening every day all over the internet. Those few that post
online in open forums using FAKE names or another persons name who then lash out in an attempt to cause a reaction..are nothing more than a BULLY.
What then can you do if you find yourself a victim of this when surfing online?
This type of harassment is not uncommon on the net and the answer to it is to IGNORE it or just block it if you are able. There are always cruel bullies in the world who get their feeling of power from hurting people but they need your response to feel good. DON’T give them a response and stay away from the places they go.
Yom Kippur – Day Of Repentance
Yom Kippur
Many of us in a small town, especially in the bible belt area, may not always know about other religions when their are so few that may practice it. But you have heard of the name of the Holiday, just not sure what it means. Today is Yom Kippur which is the day of repentance in the Jewish holidays. Yom Kippur is probably the most important holiday of the Jewish year. It is held ten days after the beginning of the Jewish new year on Rosh Hashanah, and marks the end of a forty day period called Elul which are also considered the forty days of repentance.
Sept. 7th, 2010 City Council Meeting
Tonight’s meeting hosted a full agenda. Tom Osborne (Spring River Car Club) was first up and
presented the City a plaque of honor and appreciation for the cities support in hosting the Car Cruise, which was held earlier in the year. The SRCC is looking forward to the next one which will include many more aspects of Hardy, including the merchants. The merchants look forward to this too. *View city council AGENDA by clicking HERE

City Of Hardy – Fix Your Website! – Please
Maybe its just me, but it seems that at the very least the City Of Hardy Arkanas’ website should, at a minimum, have a working CONTACT page. I have notified the city..numerous times in the past about this problem on their website and was told it would be fixed.
Today..I once again attempted to request information directly from the City Of Hardy’s website at the www.oldhardytown.net location I still get a submission form error that reads.
