Memorial Day in Hardy Arkansas…
It was a great weekend in Hardy Arkansas. Friends, family, visitors and guests all showed up in Hardy this weekend. The weather finally gave everyone a well deserved break and the town was packed. Shopkeepers were poised and the stores were packed with great merchandise to sell to the shoppers.
The Main Street was packed and many of the returning families and tourists were greeted with gusto and appreciation all over town. To those who shopped, thank you, to those who browsed, we hope to see you back soon, to those who just stumbled in as something to do…welcome and come back.
Words, Afterwords and Afterthoughts
Its amazing to think that only 4 short years ago, Afterwords Cafe was just a thought and not a reality. This weekend marks the 4th Anniversary of our wonderful cafe. It has been a blast to watch it evolve into the cool place that it now is. Greg and Beth Bess have created our own version of Cheers (no alchohol though), where everyone knows your name and your always welcome. Greg has put together a great staff of young servers who are just terrific. This past Thursday, Afterwords had an open house where friends, music and plenty of food were the ‘bill of fare’. The new Afterwords Menu was rolled out with lots of new food too. Local legend Mike Mcleod serinaded the evening with great tunes.
Popcorn and a movie, anyone?
In an age of streaming videos on our cellphones, ipads and other hand held electronic devices, it nice to be able to still go to the movies. Since moving to Hardy I have been able to drive 5 minutes to our local movie theater, The Highland Cinema, and enjoy first run Hollywood productions.
City Council Jan 4, 2011
This was the first council meeting of the new year with the newest coucil lineup which includes the newest councilwoman…Sherry Groves. We say goodbye to Bobby Guilliland who has served Hardy as councilman for many years…and thank you Councilman Guilliland, for your service to our community.
Main Street Hardy Arkansas Rocks this 3rd Friday
Hardy Arkansas’s Main Street was the place to be this December Shabbas Third Friday. Magical moments were everywhere. Many of the Main Street Merchants were open to guests and visitors this Holiday Friday evening. Lights, music, cookies, candy and warm friendliness were the order of the evening all throughout the town’s Main Street.
Magical Moments in Hardy Arkansas…
The Holiday season began in earnest this Thanksgiving weekend. There were smiles everywhere to be seen. Family members, friends, guests, visitors and travelers were abundant in Hardy Arkansas. Our homes, neighborhoods, town and Main Street shops were the scenes of many Magical Moments this holiday weekend.
Since many people read this website now (and thank you) I wanted to take a moment to say “Happy Holiday’s” to everyone that this note reaches. This is a sincere jesture from us and to doubt it would be…well…silly.
A Hardy Arkansas Halloween-2010
This Saturday morning started fine. A wake up to perfectly blue skies and crisp, clean air. Today was Halloween Eve in Hardy Arkansas and the Madd Hatter gets to prowl the Halls of The Ozark Classic Crafts Mall and Hardy Arkansas.
There were many, many characters of fiction in and around town all day. Many stores and merchants were in tune with the theme of the day…fun.
